“FATIMA!”

“Who is dat?” Fallon’s face was already screwed as she turned to look back at me.

“Oh,” my shoulders dropped. “Yelly’s up there.”

“Again?”

“Yeah,” I giggled, already knowing where her mind went. “But not like that—Troy is here too.”

“Mhmm…” Fallon rolled her eyes, still sour over what I’d told her.

“Is she still pregnant—”

“Stop!” I warned her because I didn’t want to deal with anybody fighting in my house.

“Me and you fightin’ once you drop my God baby—”

“Why?” I giggled as we walked up the steps.

“Cuz, you be lettin’ muhfuckas get away wit too much shit—”

“How?”

“Shorty blamed you fah her baby daddy poppin’ up here to take her goofy ass back to Dallas and now she layin’ up in yo house like none happened,” Fallon brought back everything I’d relayed to her.

Stopping on the sixth step, as my lips twisted, Fallon crossed her arms over her chest while rolling her eyes. Giggling, I tried to be serious for the moment.

“I know what I told you, but we talked it over—”

“Bye, girl!” Fallon flopped back down the steps, dramatically making her point as I giggled and sighed. “Das why you ain’t tell me she was here—”

“No, I ain’t tell you she was here because they have their own crib here—Torin just had security bring her here when he snuck off with her nigga to Florida,” I explained to my best friends as she pursed her lips together, nodding slowly.

“You think she know her nigga was goin’ to Florida?” Fallon brought up a good question as I narrowed my eyes, wondering if Troy filled Yelly in on his whereabouts.

“I’on know but we bout to find out,” I turned, stomping up the rest of the stairs with Fallon on my heels.

Waltzing into the guest room Yelly was staying in, I had one thing on my mind, but when I saw her crouching on the carpet, I knew I wasn’t going to get the answer I wanted. Scurrying over to her, I couldn’t bend, but I grabbed her hand as she reached out to me.

“My water just broke.” Her voice was strained as I nodded towards her son on the bed, watching my best friend run over to him. “Call Troy!”

“Okay!”

Damn… Here we go!
